The Irish Water Spaniel presents a picture of a smart, upstanding strongly built sporting dog.  Great intelligence is combined with rugged endurance and a bold, dashing eagerness of temperament.  Distinguishing characteristics are a topknot of long, loose curls, a body covered with a dense, crisply curled liver colored coat, contrasted by a smooth face and a smooth "rat tail.  (exerpt from IWS AKC Breed Standard.)

In early 2008 Trinity returned home from Just Ducky Camp in South Carolina.  She has matured beautifully and really does love the sport of hunting.  She is the only one to accompany me to the Irish Water Spaniel National Specialty held in Perry, Georgia in April.  She competed and titled in every venue -- earning a First place in Agility Standard; a First place in Rally Advanced; a thrird place in Novice B obedience; successfully competed the requirements for the IWSCA WC certificate (working certificate) and showed in breed.

2007 saw Toir earn his Rally Advanced Excellent 2 (RAE-2) title again becoming only the second Irish Water Spaniel to do so.  Tara decided that she much perfers the couch to training and has retired from performance.  Trinity worked at agility, but finally spent the last month of the year at Just Ducky Camp in South Carolina.  She is finally doing what she loves -- retrieving ducks.

2006 was another outstanding year for us.  Toir completed his Rally Advanced Excellent (RAE)Title becoming only the 2nd Irish Water Spaniel to do so.

2005 was a VERY good year for NawedShoe Kennel.  All of the dogs that were competing for AKC titles accomplished at least 1!  All toll we took home 10 (yes, that is ten) new titles in 2005.
